Class Outline
ABC
Bartending Schools have fully equipped bars for the students to
train on. Each bar is set up as if you were training on the
job, with soda guns, blenders, sinks, speed racks, glassware, ice
bins, and bottles so that you will LEARN BY DOING.
Bar Set Up and Equipment - Students will learn
how to set up the bar and work station for the day. They will
also learn how to use and maintain all the tools of bartending.
Mixology - This is the art of drink mixing.
Students learn over 100 basic and fancy drinks. This part
of the training instructs students in the principles of mixology.
Speed Techniques - In this section of the bartending
school training, students learn how to prepare multiple drinks orders
quickly and accurately.
Fruit Cutting and Garnishes - Students will learn
how to cut fruit and decorate tropical and specialty cocktails.
Profit Pouring - This section teaches suggestive
selling techniques that will increase bar sales and tips.
Liquors - During this section of the bartending
school training, students learn about the liquors they work with.
Wines - Students receive an understanding of wine
service, tasting, and the differences between wines.
Beer - Students are shown how to pour draft beer
and tap a keg.
Customer Service - Students learn how to give effective
courteous service. Knowing how to give good service equals
good tips - that translates into money in your pocket.
Alcohol Awareness - Students learn to serve alcohol
with care and awareness. Many states now require bartenders to have
this training before licensing.
Flair Training - In this course students will learn
the art of flair bartending. Learn to master the moves of
the professional bartender and make Tom Cruise look average after
attending this course.
Legal Responsibilities / Health and Safety (certification)
- Students will learn the legal resposibilities and health and safety
concerns of the workplace. Certification is also available.
Cash Register Procedures and Cash Handling - Here
students will learn to properly run a cash register and credit card
authorization machine. They will also learn the proper methods
of handling cash.
Interviewing Techniques and Resumes - Students
will learn successful interviewing for a bartending position. They
will learn how to fill out an application, prepare a resume, dress
professionally, and answer interview questions.
